'The Last Tree of Rapa Nui,' opens at Manitoba Theatre for Young People
The Last Tree of Rapa Nui is an original musical written by DACAPO's own Olaf Pyttlik and and award Governor General Award winning playwright Vern Thiessen.
Who built the statues that dot Easter Island, and what happened to the trees? In this play we learn of the fascinating rhythms, traditions and lore of Rapa Nui through the eyes of Ana and Benzi, children of the island's elders
The show toured schools in Manitoba this past fall and played to approximately 30,000 students, but will open officially and be premiered at the Theatre on January 12th, 2012.
